Coahoma High School senior signing with McPherson College

Coahoma High School senior Austin Perkins signed his letter of intent on Wednesday to pursue both academic and athletic endeavors at McPherson College in Kansas.

During his time in Coahoma, Perkins excelled as a two-way starter on the football team, setting school records for career receiving yards (2,079), career catches (108), and career touchdowns (31).

In the 2023 season, Perkins earned recognition as the Built Ford Tough 3A Player of the Week for his outstanding performance in Coahoma’s 50-34 victory over Forsan High School in the Howard County Bowl.

Perkins will be the third Coahoma Bulldog football player to join McPherson College, following in the footsteps of CHS senior Reagan Chapman (signed in January) and 2020 CHS alum Brysen Kerby, who is currently a team member.

McPherson College, part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Division II, competes in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC).
