Big Spring Symphony Orchestra looking for Vocalists

The Big Spring Symphony Orchestra is looking for vocalists starting today for their Final Season Concert, titled “Beethoven, Brahms and Borodin,” featuring Guest Conductor Dr. Robert Hunt. Chorus rehearsals for vocalists high school age and up will begin today from 7 to 9 pm. The first rehearsal will be held at the Howard College Music Building, located at 1001 Birdwell Lane. Subsequent rehearsals will take place at the Stanton High School Band Hall from 7 to 9 pm every Tuesday. Interested vocalists can simply show up ready to sing.

The concert will take place on April 27th at 7:30 PM at the Big Spring Municipal Auditorium. The orchestra will be accompanied by a large Permian Basin Chorus, consisting of vocalists from Howard County and members of the West Texas Symphony Chorale, directed by Dr. Juan Hernandez. They will perform Brahms’ “Schicksalslied” and Aleksandr Borodin’s “Polovetsian Dances” from Prince Igor.
