April: Child Abuse Awareness Month

April is dedicated to Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention, with blue being the official color symbolizing this cause. Texans statewide will wear blue to demonstrate their dedication to ending child abuse and supporting children affected by abuse and neglect. The tradition of wearing blue originated from a grandmother in Virginia who, upon learning of her grandson’s tragic death from child abuse, tied a blue ribbon to her van’s antenna in remembrance and to raise awareness about the issue. Join us this Friday as we renew our commitment to awareness by wearing blue. Join CASA of West Texas and thousands of Texans in wearing blue to demonstrate our commitment and support in ending child abuse!
